Critical lightning-conducting locations of wind power plants

Wind power plants do not only generate electricity. They also attract it – in the form of lightning. They therefore require specific protection systems – and these are supplied by the laboratory for high voltage and lightning current at FuE-Zentrum FH Kiel GmbH. The laboratory, which was established in 2002, is equipped with modern, cutting-edge technology.

FuE-Zentrum FH Kiel GmbH worked out concepts on lightning protection in collaboration with companies during the course of several projects and developed lightning protection systems for the critical lightning-conducting locations.

Dr.-Ing. Klaus Scheibe, Professor at the Faculty of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, has developed numerous innovative solutions for lightning protection for wind power plants in collaboration with our clients.
